ABOUT THE HOUSE The house has what we call the Main Level and the Cottage Level (which traces back to the house's history). In the 1950's after Kerr Lake was formed, just a summer cottage was on this land. Years later my family built a large house that incorporated the cottage into the plan, thus the Cottage Level and the Main Level. The Main Level has all of the major parts of the home - living room, sitting area around the wood-burning fireplace (fireplace not available in the summertime), dining area, kitchen, screened porch, open porch with grill, laundry room, and a full bathroom in the hall. There are two bedrooms: the Main Master Bedroom, with en-suite, has a king-size bed, a 32' HDTV and DVD player, two closets, and French doors opening out to a deck with a lake view. The Main Second Bedroom also has a king-size bed, a 32' HDTV and DVD player, a large closet, and two dressers. Both of these rooms also have luggage stands to make unpacking easier. The adults enjoy this Main level of the house. The living room boasts a wood burning fireplace (available when outside temperatures are 50 and below), the 72" Sony Bravia high definition TV coupled with the Sony Bravia home theater surround sound system, cable TV with 230+ channels, cloth and leather furniture. The kitchen is open concept allowing the cooks to remain involved with the action in the living room, or friends may join the cooks by sitting at the kitchen four-seat island. About six steps down from the main living area you arrive on the Cottage Level in the sunroom which has plenty of seating, many books, and two sets of French doors that reveal an open, sunny deck with lounge chairs and end tables. Off the sunroom, there is the entrance (with a door) to the cottage. You enter the cottage living room which has a large window looking out to the lake, plenty of seating, and a 42" HDTV with DVD. The kids can gather here - they have their own living room (that door comes in handy if they get too loud), their own cable TV with 230+ channels, three bedrooms and two full baths, and separate HVAC system. The showers in these rooms have pre-set temperature maximum control for added peace of mind. The cottage master bedroom has a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom; the second bedroom also has a queen-size bed and en-suite, and the third bedroom – which is Pine's fifth bedroom - has two twin beds. The twin bedroom shares the bathroom of the second bedroom by entering a different door (think of a Jack & Jill bathroom). The couch in the cottage’s living room has a unique pull out bed that inflates by using a special electric air pump and is available to families with 11 or 12 people (the air pump is provided to you when you pick up the house keys). Yet, it's only 100 yards from Highway 58, so it's easy to find and is only 5 Miles to Clarksville or 15 Miles to South Boston! This beautiful Lake front home is the perfect place for your family vacation! This stunning home has 9ft. ceilings and lake views on all three floors. It will accommodate up to ten (10) overnight guests. The spacious Master Suite Bedroom has a King Bed with a private balcony overlooking the main lake and the sunset view and a walk-in closet that could easily fit a portable bed. The master bath boasts separate his and hers vanity sinks, a soaker tub, separate tiled shower and private water closet. The loft catwalk has an unobscured view of the main lake (including the sunset view) and an overlook to downstairs and offers the perfect space to add an airbed or maybe two singles. In this two (2) story house the main level has a half bath in the grand foyer hallway adjacent to the living room with a stone fireplace and sliding doors to an outside deck housing a weber gas grill and seating for eight (8). The dining room has a lovely hardwood table with lake views and seating for eight (8) when you grab the two extra chairs from the hallway closet. There is a wide breakfast bar in the kitchen, seating another four(4) along with viewing of a 19' TV. The kitchen has GE profile appliances, gas stove, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee pot, toaster, steamer/rice cooker, crock pot and panini press. The dining room connects to a sun room with a couch! Downstairs the lower level provides your entertainment in a lakeside den with wet bar, TV with surround sound and DVD and CD player, a pull out sofa and a chair. Bedroom #2 has a queen bed and large walk-in closet. Bedroom #3 also has a walk-in closet with a double bed and is lake side. Between the bedrooms is a full bath with shower/tub combo. The lower level patio has seating for four (4) and a concrete walkway to the Lake where there is boat house with a huge sun deck, two covered boat slips and two (2) jet skis. A 24-foot Sea Ray deck boat is available for a rental fee with the property. (NOTE: The owner rents the boat for $500/day with a captain to chauffeur you around the lake at your leisure. Once you make your reservation, the property manager will reach out to you, usually within 24 hours, to provide contact information for the owner so you can connect. The boat is only available for this property when rented).

The graduated platform landings make the walk a breeze for most ages. No steep steps here! Once you reach the boat house take out the Kayaks and Paddle boards and explore the historic train tressel just off the edge of the property. When your done exploring come back and take a dip in the water just off the boathouse, providing hours of entertainment for everyone! At the end of a perfect day, just before bed, our favorite things are S'MORES!! Sit around the beautiful stone firepit and take a look at the stars above as you reflect on the day and plan out the exciting adventures of tomorrow. This waterfront home has 6 bedrooms and 3 baths with a Living Room and separate Family/Fireplace Room. On the main level, from the entrance foyer is the main living room with sunset views of the main lake, a spacious kitchen with a countertop island serving area, a large dining area with seating for 12 and plantation shutters, a Family room with a large 4K HDTV with Klipsch speakers with Alexa, as well as a chalkboard for family games. The deck is located off the living room with two picnic tables, and a gas fire pit/table, as well as a large grill. The deck has steel wire railing that provide awesome views, but please for your kids safety be careful to ensure they don’t climb on them. The “ESPN” room has a large Air Hockey table, Foosball Table, and Poker/Game table that seats 8, as well as a 4K HDTV as well, not to mention sunset views from this bedroom. On the other end of the floor is a “Game” room with 2 flat screen HDTVs, with Xbox One and PC/Steam machine. The Game room has a large closet that we turned into a kids play areas as well. The room is huge and has a Queen/TwinXL bunk bed, two sofas and a loveseat. The middle room upstairs has a queen bed and two twin beds as well, a 4K HDTV with an Xbox One X with a gaming seat, and Alexa Show (for music or other AI fun, just ask it to tell you some jokes). In the back yard, you will find a Swing and a Hammock where you could just enjoy reading a good book. The steps to the dock/boat house are many, but they are lighted in the evening for safety. We will be installing a diving board that should be ready by this summer as well. We have a huge 15 foot Rave water trampoline in the water for your enjoyment as well. The depth of the water from the front of the dock is about 10 feet. We also have a 22Ft SouthBay 522CLR Pontoon Boat, as well as not one but two 130 Horsepower, 2016 Seadoo jet skis. Durring the summer season you get all three for just $2,000 for the week. While we strive to be able to provide you with everything you need for your vacation, feel free to bring your boat, kayak, or favorite floats and enjoy the cool water! The home has central air conditioning with a fan in each bedroom for those of us who love to sleep to the sound of a fan - our entire family enjoys these including the little ones! The house has WiFi throughout, with great download speeds of between 10-20Mbs. Also the TVs throughout the house are all smart and have Rokus with DirectTV Now, Hulu, Netflix and Plex. Cell service is also excellent on almost all carriers (Verizon, Sprint and AT&T have been tested with 4-5 bars)! Satellite coverage is very good with very few gaps, and will continue to improve as more satellites are launched (excellent for streaming movies, YouTube videos, surfing the net, etc. Occasional short gaps in coverage could be problematic for online meetings or online gaming.) This is a great way to get out of your own house for a change, safely social distance, and have a blast on the lake! Plenty to do for the whole family! Take in the beautiful sunset over the lake while enjoying the fire pit. Use of canoe and kayak is included - jackets not provided. Outdoor seating is provided around the firepit, as well as on the large main level deck. If you move chairs down to the boat dock, then please be sure to secure them while they are down there and bring them back up when you are done. You will be charged $40 for every chair that is lost or damaged. Only the white chairs should be left down at the boat dock and they should be secured with the cable. The creek is protected from the main lake by a no wake zone and box culvert. That keeps the everyday boat traffic to a minimum. With 1.5 mile run, it makes a perfect spot for slalom skiing and wakeboarding. There is excellent fishing right from the dock at the home. Crappie, bream, largemouth bass, and catfish are easy to catch from the dock. This property also has a Special Guest Fishing Permit that allows guests to fish from the dock, pier, or shoreline without needing an individual fishing license! The main lake offers a variety of good fishing spots as well.

THE FARMHOUSE IS NOT ON LAKE GASTON, BUT IT'S ONLY A MILE AWAY. The Isle of Rest Plantation was once a 4,000 acre working plantation originally built around 1810. The main house burned down after being struck by lightening and the current home was completed in 1865. The property was divided into two parcels by the family in the mid 1920's. Most of the land was sold to developers in the 1950's when Lake Gaston was formed by damming the Roanoke River. The homestead was lived in until 1973 when the matriarch of the family passed away. Her heirs allowed the land to sit for thirty years and fall into disrepair. I purchased the homestead and 25 acres in 2005 and set off to restore the grand old house. My family and I use it as a weekend getaway throughout the year and stay for a week several times during the summer. We put the boat in down the street at Holly Creek Marina, shoot skeet, take nature walks, enjoy the deer and other wildlife, and just relax. We recently decided to try renting the house out to help with the expenses and to share the wonderful setting with others. If you are a nature lover, reader, writer, boater, hunter or all the above you will really enjoy staying at the Isle of Rest. We have allowed two weddings and two business retreats to use the property and everyone loved it. Large living area makes for a great place to entertain and share stories with family or friends. When not entertaining this area makes a perfect place where you can just sit, relax and unwind or even read a book, Sunroom has ample sitting areas with a dining table. Enjoy all the wonderful views of the trees, nature and of course the Lake out any of the windows. 2 Doors lead out to 2 different balconies. Also has a nice size dock that brings you closer to the water. Relax or jump in, either way its an awesome way to spend your days and nights, Ladder provides easy entry and exiting from the lake and several dock cleats and bumpers around the perimeter of the boat dock allows you to tie up your boat or jetski while enjoying your vacation.

The formal dining room is located on the left with plush seating and a gorgeous chandelier to light up your dining; continuing forward towards the great room and kitchen you will find the expansive kitchen with smooth top stove is equipped with all your cooking and culinary needs and offers additional dining opportunities, along the lakeside and at the bar (with pendant lighting), where it then opens to the great room and the oversized screened porch. The large great room has a stone fireplace with ample seating and lakeside windows to the lakeside deck allowing natural light in. Just down the hallway is the half bath and the laundry room and the master suite, which boasts views to the lakeside and opens to screened porch. The master bath features a soaker tub and separate shower with double vanities. Also down the hallway is the separate laundry room with an upright freezer for your additional food storage needs. The other side of the spacious home features a hallway bath and two additional bedrooms--one lakeside with more windows and the other facing the road. The basement offers a full bath, a second great room with a wet bar and mini fridge, a storage area and two additional bedrooms. One oversized lakeside bedroom on the lower level is set up with three each double bunks (single over single). The other bedroom offers private lakeside views in luxurious style. Kids of all ages will enjoy indoor and outdoor living, from the ping pong table in the great room to the kayaks and the pedal boat at the boathouse. Dry space seating is provided on the lower level for separate gathering areas and overlooks the lake and boathouse. The boathouse offers a single boat slip for Guest's use and a jet ski lift. The property is located just off the main lake in a protective cove, which allows swimming, kayaking and other water sports within view of the decks and porches. NOTE: Linens (bath and lake towels, wash cloths, bed linens) are available at a additional linen fee. Please select the linen fee for inclusion during your stay, unless you choose to bring your own. Where selected, bed linens are located in the dresser drawer or closets closet; towels are located in the closest linen closet to the bath rooms. Sheet sets are not put on the bed prior to your arrival in assurance that they are cleaned and sanitary prior to your visit. To ease your travel and prevent hauling extra items on vacation, select linens for your convenience at the linen fee. This is a smoke-free home. NO SMOKING is allowed inside the home. Beautiful 2 story waterfront home located in a large quiet cove with access to the main lake. Large yard with multiple outdoor seating areas, dock to tie up your boat or boat rentals nearby, water toys, floating water-mat, sandy beach area, steps into the water, swing set, horseshoes, air hockey, and multiple other amenities. Great for large family gatherings or multiple families. Two washer and dryers, two full size refrigerators, kitchenette in the downstairs, and 6 smart TV's. Winery, golf and stores nearby. Water depth is about 2 ft at entry level steps, great for water games, little ones, and floating. With a depth of around 10 ft at the end of the dock, its perfect for jumping in or tying up your boat. We do have outdoor cameras for the purpose of water levels, storm damage, etc. These are not utilized otherwise. Layout of the interior makes it entry level on either floor. The first floor includes the kitchen, dining area, living room, master bedroom with attached bath, as well an additional king guest room and a full bath. The remaining 3 bedrooms are downstairs with a full bath, kitchenette, and living area. One adult kayak, a double kayak, and 2 kids kayaks are available for use.

Each bed has sheets and blankets included. Bath towels stocked in each bathroom. Comfortable living room with gas fireplace and reclining couches. Plenty of space to curl up and watch a movie (DVD player and assortment of DVDs included)! Large open kitchen with plenty of counter space fully stocked will all necessary appliances (coffee maker, toaster, electric griddle, etc.), full size washer/dryer. Oversized farmhouse table that seats 14, high chair also available. Separate gaming nook and kids play area upstairs - plenty of board games to choose from. There is an open bonus room with pool table, and the bunk room has a fun foosball table as well! Private boat slip with spacious upper party dock with gorgeous views of the quiet cove. Relax in the sun in one of the lounge chairs, or have a meal at the outdoor dining table. Guest access Community has a private boat ramp, a short boat ride to the private boat slip with a jet ski lift. Water depth is approximately 3ft at the boat slip but 5ft in the center of the cove. No culvert to navigate to enjoy the main lake. Enjoy fishing from the private boat dock or just relax and enjoy the sun from the oversized party deck. Other things to note Location is very close to Highway 85, a short drive off exit 4 with easy access to shopping and dining. We love the Shady Shack - a great waterfront bar/restaurant with excellent food, gourmet milkshakes and live entertainment - a quick ride in the car or boat!
